Default South Carolina $20 internet porn tax

The proposed bill, prefiled for the legislative session that will begin in the new year, would require all South Carolina manufacturers and sellers of computers and other internet-capable devices to install porn-blocking software on all their products. If vendors or customers wants to remove the filters, they’d have to pay a one-time $20 fee per device. The money would go toward the anti-sex trafficking efforts of South Carolina’s attorney general.

I read it as a bunch of right wing politicians trying to restrict internet adult sites and grab some cash at the same time. Correct me if I am wrong.

You pretty much nailed it. It's a nasty little game they like to play. The right wingers like to take action on religious hot button issues knowing they have widespread support backing them up. They also know that the ones that take issue with porn publicly are also the biggest spenders behind closed doors. Give em what they say they want and happily take there money.

It is just another way to tax people, not so much about the internet. Think about this.
