If only it was this simple. I've been around some bipolar individuals. The meds when adjusted properly will keep them stable but it also dulls the senses. Problem is once they are stable they tend convince themselves that they're ok and can function off meds. Can't really blame them, who would like living in a fog? They commonly hide the fact they've gone off meds and will slowly start spinning out of control as their med level drops until they bounce off the walls prior to crashing of course.
