In theory a great idea but practically hard unless you have buckets of money to pay for translating them.

The guy I used to work for as a rep made a lot of money translating sites. He did design, coding translating.

Not perfect but free and appears to still work. I used to use this back when google still openly offered it on their site. I got out of the habit of adding it a few years back when they removed it. Nowadays google pushes a paid service instead.
I just used the w3 demo to translate to German and the script still works.
